I completely agree that school isn't and shouldn't the main thing in every kids life, but I believe there should be a balance between school and dance. While I agree that if the KID enjoys dance he or she should focus on it more; however, with many of the kids I just got the sense that they were there bc mom drove them there. I'm most interested in what becomes of their careers down the road.

Although I agree with most of your analysis, I had to disagree with your point about school. For some people there are things that are more important than school. As long as the kids are still able to get an education and keep up with their grade level, if dance is the most important thing to them then kudos to them for making it a priority. One only becomes a professional at something if they put the hours into it.

Well that is a short sighted view of what this show is about. I personally liked the show because it reminded me of when I was younger growing up playing sports. I didn't always enjoy it, but my parents, especially my dad, were adament that I play. Yeah I admit it's not the norm for a guy to like a show such as Dance Moms. I like other shows on tv such as Eastbound and Down, and I enjoy watching sports. There's a lot more to dance moms than the kids dancing. It is interesting watching the dynamic between the parents play out, and how the moms influence their daughters. Then to see how fearful they are of Abby the instructor is pretty interesting too. I don't know what show your "typical" man prefers to watch, and I'm honestly not too interested or concerned with what you may think. I simply watch shows that interest me. That being said I haven't kept up with the show in the 2nd season.

lol you think you know everything. maybe you're doing stuff wrong too. people are overly sensitive but as a male, you don't understand that women are emotional. point blank. if they are on their period, you will probably piss them off. life's too short to waste your time boosting your self-esteem by pissing other people off.

Well, it depends on what you define as doing well. Anonymous hotlines are hard to guage simply because there is no follow up after the phone call usually. If you were wondering how many calls they log a year or something along those lines, i bet those numbers are available somewhere.
